Accotink Bay Wildlife Preserve 6, 9.5 or 14-Mile Walk

Details
Full observance of the restricted area signage is paramount, please. You’ll find us in the visitor center parking lot, prior to and just right of the security check area. Regardless, bring two fully recognized forms of ID, at least one with a pic. It’s less than 500 feet of elevation, even if you walk the max distance. Please have an early lunch as we will start walking at 12pm on the out-and-back, Basin Trail spur that leads throughout the most aesthetic, scenic view of the Accotink Bay Wildlife Preserve’s public access trail area. Waterfowl are especially abundant here. Bald eagles are often cited. Some of you may choose to end after completing these first six miles. Or you may choose to continue on and complete either of two loop trail choices for a combined total 9.5 miles or 14 miles. Map handouts attest that all trail segments are distinctively well-marked with color coded blazes.
