A brisk walk of over 3 mph, so for confident walkers only. The trail winds its way through the picturesque countryside of East Kent, linking together pretty villages, small farmsteads, country estates and the remains of the areas industrial and mining heritage. The route is quite flat with only 1500ft of ascent over the 28 miles.

The lunch stop will be slightly early at Betteshanger Country Park, where there is a cafe and toilets and there will be an additional stop mid afternoon in Ash, where there will be an opportunity to buy drinks from the shop and also use the toilet facilities.
