This fall I started a bi-weekly supervision group, with accompanying CEUs. I am offering the group in 3 month cycles. I am working on a complementary book to my KAP guidebook, focused on various protocol approaches to this work, which is what we are fleshing out in this group together.

We have two openings in our upcoming supervision group cycle. Participants must have already participated in KAP education and have at least a couple active KAP clients to participate. Please reach out if you would like to see if this group is a good match for you.

Finding and Making Paths with KAP: A Supervision Group

  • Date of Sessions: 1/20, 2/3, 2/17, 3/3/11, 3/17, 3/31
  • Up to 9 CEUs based on attendance

Here is the design:
· Virtual every other week Tuesday 10 am to 11:30 am
· $360 for 6 sessions over 3 months
· 9 CEU available each cycle (for sessions attended)
· Participants restricted to psychotherapists trained in KAP
· Maximum of 8 participants
· My practice frame is analytically oriented psychotherapy. Group participants will bring their own frames to the group for sharing
Format for the group will provide opportunity for a couple participants each week to bring their client, question, concern to a discussion. We will identify the theme to help everyone link into the convo. Here is what I mean:
· Bill brings in a case where the client is struggling to drop in, or has a lackluster session, or imagines they aren’t really getting anything out of KAP. We will unpack the particular case, but if we all have the themes in mind, it is easier to get help on our cases at the same time. We won’t be doing anything like thorough formal case presentations.
· Barbara’s client is starting to bubble over in rage at her family during the week between KAP session. We will think about dislodged emotions, how we help clients manage new feelings/truths surfacing while discussing Barbara’s client, so that we all have our cases in mind as well.
· Baxter isn’t sure how to use the lucid dream of the experience to understand how to help the client. While talking about that client’s experience, we will explore how to understand the symbolism and somatic experiences of the medicine and post-medicine experience in understanding client journeys.
Readings are provided as a way to establish the option of CEUs. Unless we decide differently, we will not be directly discussing the readings. We might decide as a group at some point to bring particular readings into the focus of the group, but first, we will build a community of therapists discussing use of this treatment tool.
The group runs for 90 minutes. The first 75 minutes are the group. The remaining 15 minutes are for folx who want to stay on who have practical/ procedural questions about KAP practice.

If you are curious, reach out and we will schedule a zoom call to see if this is the right fit for you.
