About us
Our meetup is organized with support of opencampus.sh and the Digitale Wirtschaft Schleswig-Holstein (DiWiSH).
It is for hobbyists, academics as well as professionals who are interested in the latest developments in AI, Data Science, and Machine Learning as well as interesting applications of these technologies.
Our focus is more on the technology side, but everyone who is interested in this topic is more than welcome. We are explicitly not commercial and organize this meetup because we are passionate about AI, not to promote some product or service.

NIGHT OF TALENTS by opencampus.sh & VDE Machine Learning Preisverleihung
InnoPier (9./10.Stock), Martensdamm 6, 24103, Kiel, DENIGHT OF TALENTS & VDE Machine Learning Prize meets DiWo Kiel
The Night of Talents brings together students, developers, and researchers working on Machine Learning, Robotics, and Prototyping to present and discuss their projects in a public setting.
You've seen GitHub profiles. You've skimmed README files. But here you can see real systems in action: ML models, autonomous robots, and working prototypes, presented live by the people who built them!
// That's exactly what happens at the Night of Talents on Monday, 4 May 2026. In collaboration with DiWo Kiel, opencampus.sh brings the event back for its third edition, and this year’s lineup is the most technically impressive yet!
The evening features project showcases from three areas:
- Machine Learning & AI: real models, real results from the opencampus.sh Machine Learning Degree
- 1st Kieler Robotic League: student-built robots in action
- Prototyping Week 2026: interdisciplinary prototypes developed in an intensive, hands-on project week
The highlight of the evening is the live ceremony of the VDE Machine Learning Prize, awarded for outstanding achievements in AI and Machine Learning. Two categories, one stage:
- Advanced Innovator Prize: for projects with strong practical relevance
- Emerging Innovator Prize: for particularly promising early-stage projects
The VDE Machine Learning Prize has been awarded annually since the winter semester 2023/24, established together with the Prof. Werner Petersen Stiftung and the VDE (Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies).
After the official programme, stay for drinks, snacks, and conversations with the people behind the projects.

Tech Talk #3 „RAG-Systeme“ Best Practices aus erster Hand
COBL by Opencampus, Legienstraße 40, Kiel, SH, DEAm 19.05.2026 laden Coding.Waterkant, die Fachgruppe KI der DiWiSH - Digitale Wirtschaft Schleswig-Holstein, ARIVA.DE AG und KI.SH bereits zum dritten Mal gemeinsam zum Tech Talk ein.
--> Anmeldung Tech Talks: RAG Systeme
