About us
Kildevæld Digital Workshop is a community workshop at Kildevæld Kulturcenter in Copenhagen Ø, with hands-on events for people who are curious about digital fabrication, creative technology, crafts and making.
Our workshops give you an opportunity to learn by doing. Depending on the event, you might explore 3D printing, laser cutting, 3D modelling, electronics, wireless communication, creative crafts or other tools and technologies.
Events range from beginner-friendly creative workshops to more technical sessions, and previous experience is usually not required. Each event description explains the age requirements, language, what you need to bring and any other practical details.
The activities are volunteer-driven and take place at Kildevæld Kulturcenter, Bellmansgade 3C, 2100 Copenhagen Ø.
In addition to our scheduled events, we have an Open Workshop every Tuesday from 17:00–21:00, where you can come by with your own project, experiment with the workshop's tools and get help from the volunteers. If possible, bring your own computer.
Events and use of the workshop are free unless otherwise stated, although materials used in the machines may need to be purchased at the workshop. Places for scheduled events may be limited, and registration is normally required through the official event registration link.

Functional 3D Modelling in Onshape 101 | Beginner Workshop

Curious about 3D design and how to create useful, precise models of your own?
Join us for a beginner-friendly introduction to Onshape, an online 3D modelling tool used for parametric design.
During the workshop, you’ll learn how to create and shape simple 3D objects, work with measurements and parameters, and get familiar with some of the key tools in Onshape. The aim is to give you enough of a foundation to continue experimenting and designing on your own afterwards.
No previous experience with 3D design is needed.

Build Your Own Mini Shelf | Laser Cutting Workshop

Design and build your own miniature shelf for displaying figures, collectibles or other small treasures.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll get an introduction to laser cutting and learn how to turn your own design into a physical object. With guidance along the way, you’ll design, cut and assemble a mini shelf suited to your own collection and ideas.
No previous experience is needed, and if you haven’t used a laser cutter before, we’ll introduce you to the process and help you along the way.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to design and build a personalised LED sign using laser cutting and simple electronics. We'll guide you through the process, from creating your design to assembling your finished lamp.No previous experience is needed — just bring your creativity! You'll leave with your own illuminated creation, ready to brighten up your room.

MeshCore 101 📡 | Build Your Own Off-Grid Communication System

Ever wondered how you could send messages without mobile coverage, internet access or even the electrical grid?
Join us at Kildevæld Digital Workshop for a hands-on introduction to MeshCore, an off-grid communication system that uses LoRa radio technology to send messages over long distances without relying on mobile networks or satellites.
We'll explore how small devices can communicate with each other, creating decentralised communication networks useful for everything from DIY electronics and IoT projects to outdoor adventures and emergency communication.
After a short introduction to MeshCore and mesh networking, you'll get hands-on experience setting up a MeshCore companion node. We'll then put the technology to the test by sending messages between devices placed in different locations in and around the building.
No previous experience with MeshCore, LoRa or microcontrollers is needed. Just bring your curiosity!
