Ever wondered how you could send messages without mobile coverage, internet access or even the electrical grid?
Join us at Kildevæld Digital Workshop for a hands-on introduction to MeshCore, an off-grid communication system that uses LoRa radio technology to send messages over long distances without relying on mobile networks or satellites.
We'll explore how small devices can communicate with each other, creating decentralised communication networks useful for everything from DIY electronics and IoT projects to outdoor adventures and emergency communication.
After a short introduction to MeshCore and mesh networking, you'll get hands-on experience setting up a MeshCore companion node. We'll then put the technology to the test by sending messages between devices placed in different locations in and around the building.
No previous experience with MeshCore, LoRa or microcontrollers is needed. Just bring your curiosity!
📡 Practical information
- For ages 15 and up
- Suitable for beginners
- Bring your own laptop and a USB-C cable
- A smartphone is also recommended
- MeshCore companion kits will be provided for use during the workshop
- Already have a MeshCore-compatible device? You're welcome to bring it, provided it's supported by the official MeshCore Flasher
- Participation is free, but registration is required
🌍 Language
The workshop will primarily be held in English, but Danish is also spoken. Everyone is welcome!
