First Cup — Honest Conversations, Gentle Connection & Mental Well-Being

Details
Join us for the very first Kind Coffee Paris — a relaxed and welcoming English-speaking meetup, designed for kind-hearted people who want to slow down and have more honest, thoughtful conversations.
We’ll be meeting at Food Society Paris, a large and friendly food court near Gare Montparnasse (métro Gaîté). If you haven’t been before, it’s a spacious venue with plenty of seating, which means we should easily find a table and sit together without being disturbed. We’ll be near the coffee shop area.
Kind reminder:
This is a non-drinking event, so we kindly ask that you stick to a hot or soft drink. Drinks aren’t provided, and the venue doesn’t allow outside food or drink, so please plan to buy something small to support the space. Thanks for your understanding.
Our time together:
This first meetup is deliberately informal. You're welcome to chat in pairs or small groups, and there's no pressure to share anything deeply personal. That said, this is a space for active conversation, not a passive event. You're encouraged to join in, speak, and connect — in whatever way feels natural to you.
Your host will be on hand to greet you and help you feel welcome, but won’t be leading the whole conversation. The vibe of the group will really come from you. Think of it as a shared table, not a guided tour.
And just to say — introverts are more than welcome. This space was created by someone who knows what it’s like to find social settings a bit daunting. The whole idea behind Kind Coffee is to make connection feel more natural, even if you’re usually quiet, thoughtful, or not sure what to say. You don’t need to be confident or outgoing. Just willing to show up.
We’ll offer a light theme for the day — mental well-being in everyday life — simply as a gentle starting point. The idea is to give you something to fall back on if you’d like a way to spark conversation with the people around you.
A few light questions to fall back on:
You don’t need to prepare anything in advance. This is a relaxed, no-pressure space. But if you’re a bit nervous or tend to be more introverted, you might find that reflecting on a few of these questions beforehand helps you feel more at ease.
Feel free to use them as icebreakers, or ignore them completely and let things flow naturally.
- What helps you feel okay on a hard day?
- Is there a small habit or ritual that brings you peace?
- What does “being well” mean to you these days?
- Are there places in Paris (or elsewhere) that help you feel grounded?
- What’s something you’ve learned recently about taking care of yourself?
- How do you reconnect with yourself when life feels noisy or busy?
You might even leave the meetup with a new perspective on what mental well-being looks like in daily life, for yourself or for others.
How to spot us:
The best entrance to Food Society is via Avenue du Maine. As you walk in, the Coffee Shop area is on your right. It’s a popular coworking spot, so if it’s busy, we might be sitting a little closer to the Pizza area instead.
Don’t worry — that doesn’t mean you have to eat pizza (though it’s always very tempting, isn’t it?).
It just means we might be slightly further from the coffee shop. As we'll be meeting in the middle of the afternoon, it's usually a fairly quiet part of the venue, so it should be ideal for us.
There’s a large map at the entrance to help you get your bearings. We’ll try to choose a table that’s easy to spot from the entrance.
Look out for the Kind Coffee sign and the red cap on the table.
Tim, your host, will also be keeping an eye out and ready to welcome you.
Group size:
To help create a space that’s genuinely conducive to conversation, we’re keeping this meetup limited to 15 people.
If you RSVP but later realise you can’t make it, please cancel your spot so someone else can join. It really helps us keep the group welcoming and balanced.
A few gentle guidelines:
- This isn’t group therapy or a debate club — it's just a space for gentle connection.
- Let’s steer clear of politics, religion, and the news cycle.
- Maybe don’t monologue about your job (unless it’s truly fascinating!)
- We simply won't tolerate any hateful behaviour.
- Kind Coffee is a safe space for all. We hope you’ll make meaningful connections, but please don't come with the goal of flirting or picking someone up. Respect for others' boundaries is essential.
Our values:
- Respect
- Kindness
- Open-mindedness
- Inclusivity
Looking forward to seeing you there.
Kindly,
Kind Coffee Paris x
