This Songkran, The Kind Circle invites you to celebrate the Thai New Year through beautiful cultural traditions: handcrafting flower garlands called phuang malai and folding lotus flowers.

What Is It About?
Most people know Songkran as Thailand’s famous water festival, a joyful time when people take to the streets to splash water and celebrate together across the country. What many visitors may not realize is that Songkran is actually the Thai New Year, a time of renewal and new beginnings. In Thai culture, water symbolizes washing away the past year while flowers are used to share blessings for the new future.

During this gathering, you can learn how to create these traditional flower crafts step by step. You may choose to offer your creation to someone you appreciate, gift it to an elder as a gesture of respect, or bring it to a temple as a blessing.

What to Expect
🌹 Phuang Malai Garland Making
Traditionally hand-crafted from jasmine, crown flowers, and rose buds. These fragrant garlands represent pure love and prosperity, shared to show deep respect and goodwill.

Traditionally folded and prepared before being offered at temples. The lotus flower holds special significance in Thai and Buddhist culture as a symbol of purity, renewal, and spiritual growth.
