💌 International Day of Hope: Volunteer Letter Project

What Is It About?
This International Day of Hope, The Kind Circle invites you to spend a relaxing afternoon as we write thoughtful handwritten letters, decorate them with drawings or handmade gifts, and help brighten the day of children, adults, and elders in underserved communities through local foundations we work with. Whether you'd like to write a single letter or become part of an ongoing pen pal exchange, everyone is welcome.

What To Expect
There are two ways to participate:
💌 A Letter of Encouragement: Write a one-time handwritten letter filled with kindness, encouragement, and positive everyday conversation. One thoughtful letter can be enough to bring a smile to someone's face.
💌 Pen Pal Letter Exchange: If you’re interested in building a longer-term connection, you can register your interest in becoming a pen pal. As partnerships are established, we’ll do our best to match those who would enjoy exchanging letters over time. Many of the people we're writing to are learning English, so these letters can also provide them with a fun and meaningful opportunity to practice reading and writing in a real-life setting!

No special writing skills are needed. We’ll provide simple guidelines, writing prompts, and sample letters to help you get started. Topics may include hobbies, interests, local culture, dreams, gratitude, acts of kindness, and everyday life.

🌏 This is a free community event. Letters and materials are small gifts from the organizer to help create an inclusive space where everyone can feel welcome. You can also bring your own materials if you would like to add a more personal touch to your letter.
