Welcome to our World Cultures series. Bangkok is home to people from many different countries, and we’d love to create a welcoming space where anyone can come together to share, learn, and appreciate each other's cultures and traditions that make our world so beautifully diverse.

What Is It About?
⭐️ Have you heard the ancient tale of the Weaver Girl and the Cowherd, two lovers represented by the stars Vega and Altair, separated by the Milky Way and said to reunite only once a year?
🌟 This beautiful tale has traveled across East Asia and beyond. Touched by the story, different countries have developed their own festivals and celebrations around it, reflecting each country's customs and traditions. Today, it is known by names such as Tanabata in Japan, Chilseok in Korea, Thất Tịch in Vietnam, and Qixi in China, which all mean "the Seventh Night," when the two lovers are believed to reunite every year. These celebrations are held on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month, which falls on August 19 this year. They are often associated with love, hope, patience, creativity, and craftsmanship.

What To Expect
🪅 Together, we'll explore this ancient tale through simple handmade crafts involving paper weaving. We'll learn how to make woven wish tags, bookmarks, and other decorative keepsakes. Afterward, you can choose what feels most meaningful to you:
🎁 Keep it as a little reminder of this day together.
🎁 Exchange it with an old friend or a new friend you meet at the event.
🎁 Pass it forward to one of the local foundations we volunteer with, where it will be shared with people in underserved communities as a small reminder that someone cares.

Who Is It For?
✽ Anyone who wants to connect through meaningful creativity.
✽ Anyone who enjoys sharing and learning about different cultures.
✽ Anyone who would like to celebrate this special day together.

This is a free community event. All materials are provided as a gift from the organizer to help create a inclusive space where everyone feels welcomed. Optional contributions to help us maintain this community are welcomed and appreciated 🌍💙
