LUMINOUS PULSE - INTRO TO HANDPAN

Step into the meditative and rhythmic world of the handpan, a modern instrument with ancient resonance. In this introductory workshop, Persian instrumentalist Hamed Habipour guides participants through the foundations of handpan playing, blending technical skill with musical presence and cultural depth.
This session is designed for complete beginners and curious musicians alike. Participants will learn:
* How the handpan produces tone, overtones, and harmonic resonance

* Proper hand positioning, touch, and striking techniques

* Basic rhythms and melodic patterns

* How to listen, respond, and play with intention

* The handpan as a tool for meditation, nervous system regulation, and musical expression

Rooted in Persian musical sensibility and global rhythmic traditions, Hamed’s teaching style emphasizes listening, feel, and embodied rhythm rather than performance pressure. The workshop creates a calm, supportive environment where participants can explore sound as both music and medicine.
No prior musical experience is required. Instruments may be provided or shared depending on availability.
