From Flat to Flattering: Headshot Lighting Fundamentals
Details
This is a 2-hour, small-group, hands-on headshot workshop — with a focus on creating strong, professional portraits using studio lighting.
Studio strobes, loaner cameras, and Profoto remotes will be available. You’re welcome to bring your own camera with a Profoto remote as well.
This session is fully hands-on and everyone will both photograph and model.
We will not be using outside models, so all participants must come looking their best, wearing formal office workwear — just like you would for the interview for your dream job,
Choose an outfit you’d confidently wear to meet a CEO. Intentional, professional styling simply will help make everyone’s portrait better.
Important: If you prefer not to participate both as a photographer and as a model, I am planning a second workshop with dedicated models, where you’ll be able to focus entirely on shooting.
You’ll learn:
• How to create a high-quality professional headshot
• Posing, expression, lighting, and direction
• Learn how to direct subjects — and what it feels like to be directed
This is a small, focused, and collaborative group, designed for maximum learning and personal feedback.
