Kitchen Catchup Dinner: Uyghur Chinese Cumin Lamb & Noodles -Ashfield, Thur24Jun

Details

If you enjoy the taste of lamb, cumin and noodles, this next Kitchen Catchup dinner adventure will get your tastebuds dancing!

We are heading to Silkroad Uyghur Restaurant in Ashfield, on the main road (Liverpool Rd) and only a 5 min walk from Ashfield Station.

If you've not yet had Chinese Uyghur cuisine but are curious about it, it's a great time to try it out in a safe and supportive space!

We'll be sharing the following dishes ;

  • Samsa Traditional Baked Meat Buns (Flaky Meat Pastries)
  • Tawakawap - Slow cooked lamb in a variety of spices like cumin and peppers on tandoori bread (this is my absolute favourite!)
  • Cumin Spice Lamb Ribs
  • Special Korma Lagmani - Chopped homemade noodles with vegetables & chicken
  • Stirfried Eggplant with an onion, capsicum & tomato sauce
  • Cucumber Salad with Garlic Sauce
  • Drinks : Your choice of Uyghur style hot milk tea, Uyghur yoghurt drink, Black or Green Tea, Soft Drinks

And Chinese Uyghur cuisine is not too spicy, so if you just like a low to medium amount of spice you should be fine.

Meeting time :
6:50pm for a 7pm start

Location :
Silkroad Uyghur Restaurant
190 Liverpool Rd, Ashfield

Getting there :
Silkroad Uyghur Restaurant is on the main road in Ashfield (Liverpool Rd). Only a 5 min walk from Ashfield Station and there should street parking available in the area.

Payment :
Dinner will be approx $35-45 per person plus any drinks you'd like to also order. This restaurant is also BYO with no additional corkage fee.

BRING CASH as the restaurant does not do split bills.

We are looking to having 10-15 people across a couple tables. So Rsvp to lock in your spot at the table.

Many Sydney Kitchen Catchup members often tell me when we get together over a shared meal or event, they always find that it's so great to have a space where they can chat with like-minded kitchen enthusiasts about food, cooking and/or baking for a few hours. And regardless of whether you're just starting out or are a professional chef, there is always something interesting to learn from the breadth of experience across this amazing group of people.

Looking forward to seeing you there for another great dinner adventure! ☺️
