What we're about

Fact: 80% of Americans don't know what they are having for dinner each day! Tired of cooking the same thing for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Wish you could cook your favorites restaurant dishes? Don't have the money to eat out, but don't know what to cook at home? Re-conquer your kitchen and discover new culinary skills that will have you cooking like a Chef in your own home. Impress friends and family with delicious new meals, and best of all save money by cooking delicious low-cost meals at home. About the Cooking classes: Adventure in the Kitchen cooking classes are not just a meet and greet. We strive to provide each cook hands-on instruction throughout the class, we make sure everyone understands and that everyone is having fun. Classes will take place with others cooks in a fun and safe cooking environment located in a fully equipped commercial kitchen, which allows students to have a complete hands-on leaning experience. Classes will begin with meeting of other cooks, then a quick safety and food handling brief, and then on to the fun of cooking. After the cooking/instruction portion of the class is over, cooks will be seated and have a chance to enjoy the diner they just cooked paired with a glass of wine if desired. After dinner cooks will have the chance for a question and answer session with the chef, and a review. Recipes will be handed out and the class is officially over. The Chef: The Adventures in the Kitchen, Chef Stan, was trained by the personal chef of President Kennedy, has experience as a chef in Beverly Hills, California, has catered parties for over 5000 people, was the chef for California senators, and is a gold medalist winner in California cooking Olympics. Chef Stan has attended and graduated the Florida food service program required by Chapter 209 Florida Statutes and is a certified approved Florida foodhandler. The Kitchen: The kitchen is a 2000 square foot fully licensed & inspected facility with plenty of room for teaching. The commercial kitchen also includes Reach-In Refrigerators, Reach-in Freezer, Bowl, pans, pots & utensils, Cutting boards & knives, Cold Prep & bottling area, Hot Prep area, Holding area, Storage for Equipment, Clean & inspected fire suppressed hood vent system, 2 Commercial Imperial Convection ovens, and more. Costs of Classes: Prices per class will vary, with costs ranging from $10 to $50 depending on the amount of ingredients, the cost of ingredients, and the type of class. If the class covers seafood basics, with a surf and turf dinner, expect the cost to be higher then cooking simple chicken. Cost also includes administrative expenses such as rental of the kitchen, payment for gas and electricity, the cost for insurance, and cooking equipment. Complimentary white and red wines will be available during each class, and students are welcome to enjoy the different wines that are offered each time. We do the best we can to keep costs at a minimum, and we encourage cooks to compare our prices to other cooking schools. Join Adventures in the Kitchen for some fun and educational cooking! Note: This meetup is a partner of the Tampa Adventure Group and is sponsored by the Tampa Adventure Group (T.A.G.) T.A.G. - Adventure for Life!
