Bike & Learn
Details
This event will be a bike hike on which you can learn some interesting geology in northwest Waterloo. Be sure to sign up so I know to wait for you. The GeoTime Trail rides through nearly 200 million years of geologic time over a 7.5 km distance. Information boards along the route explain how it all came about. Not all of the path is paved - some fine gravel - and there are hilly portions.
We'll meet in the small parking lot beside 592 Sundew Drive in Waterloo. Look for the MeetUp sign. This event is FREE. The trail is a large loop through open grass areas and woods - a low stress ride, as opposed to serious biking ! We'll stop to read some of the park posters and halt for lunch at the halfway point. Plenty of time to catch highlights along the way. For example, half way around we'll see a large solar clock and talk about how it works. Sorry no dogs on this event because there are aggressive coyotes in this area. Bring a bite to eat, water and mosquito repellent (just in case???) !
