Ever wonder how and why people get service dogs or how they are trained and selected?? Want to meet owners who know how important dogs can be in your life? This Meetup Event will introduce you to Andrew Scheifele, Director of Safety for the University of Waterloo who will describe to us the Service Dog Program for the Waterloo Region. His talk will be a slide presentation with Q&A afterwards. Mr. Scheifele plans to bring along one of the animals (Jonesy) from the program to prove to you that the dog world has its own ambassadors. Jonesy is so friendly! PLEASE NOTE: Only service dogs are allowed in campus buildings. Sorry, no pets.
The talk will take place in Room 116E of the Commissary (COM) building at 200 Ring Road of the University of Waterloo campus. Enter by the (propped open) southeast corner door on Ring Road and proceed down the hall to the seminar room on the right. Parking is available via the AIM app in Lot N 100 feet away for a flat fee of $10, or take the ION to UW station, or walk 200 m from free parking at the restaurant complex at University & Phillip. This event will be held jointly with the University of Waterloo Circle K club and K-W Kiwanis.
