Fascinating Fungi: Talk + Short Video

In support of Earth Day 2026, Green Drinks KL is organizing a special session in collaboration with Sunda Shelves, to share the magical, mysterious and medicinal world of fungi and their power to heal, sustain and contribute to the regeneration of life on Earth that began 3.5 billion years ago.
Session will comprise of a talk by Bee Kin Thi, who currently works at the Forest Biodiversity Division, Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), and short TED video by Mycologist Paul Stamets on 6 ways the mycelium fungus can help save the universe: cleaning polluted soil, making insecticides, treating smallpox and even flu viruses.
Bee Kin does research in Genetics, Molecular Biology and Mycology. Her most recent publication is 'An ectomycorrhizal thelephoroid fungus of Malaysian dipterocarp seedlings'.

- The event has a small entry fee of 20 RM to cover venue/space costs that can be paid via this link.
