Karaoke Pub Open-Mic Meetup Event - Private Booking (Max 18 Members Only)

SUMMARY OF EVENT

We are organizing one of the very first Karaoke Kings & Queens meetup event in a pub setting with a mini karaoke stage. Many might wonder why not book a family karaoke joint right away? The reasons are many but this is more of a 'break-the-ice' karaoke event where members can feel comfortable in a public setting. Rather than being confined in a karaoke room with strangers they haven't met before. Its a chance for current and new members to mingle around over drinks and snacks. And those who feel like performing a tune or two can jump on stage.

THE VENUE

The meetup event will be held at a neighbourhood style pub called VOVO located at Desa Sri Hartamas. It is a one shoplot size establishment, and can house 6 bar tables. With 3 pax per table. We are looking to book out the entire place for a good 4 hours Sat 16th from 2pm - 6pm. During this time, no outsiders are allowed except for members or event organizers. Please note that it is not an entirely closed door event, and entrance glass doors will be half open.

HOW TO ATTEND

Member participation for this event is first come first served by clicking on Attend button. The available seating quota will also be allocated equally between male and female attendees. Entry fees have to be paid a few days in advance before the event day to the event organizer. If anyone drops out or do not submit their payment in time, their spot will be given to those waiting further down next in line. So remember to click to Attend even though you might have past the allocated 18 seating. As there will likely be those who drop out during the last minute. We shall inform you right away if a spot opens up.

ENTRY FEE

Rm 50 per head. Your entry fee will entitle you to 2 bottles of beer plus unlimited snacks. Or substitute the equivalent amount for soft drinks or fresh juice. There will also be snack buffet bar for western style snacks like wings or fries. As well as separate servings of local Yong Tau Fu delights. If you wish to order extra drinks, you can order and pay directly to the pub servers.

RULES & ETIQUETTE

Unlike olden days where microphones are passed from table to table, singers will instead have to go on a small stage to sing their chosen songs. With 4 hours on the clock, we predict your table group should be called on stage to sing 3 to 4 times. Each table will be allocated 2 songs per stage calling. Members will take turns to sing and decide among themselves who goes first. Please give every member at your table a chance to sing unless they willfully decline. If 2 members decide to share sing a song, please follow the standard etiquette of 'You Sing One Verse, I Sing One Verse'. Please do not sing together or over each other. Unless a duet or similar arrangement is discussed and agreed before your song plays. As some members might be microphone shy, please show courtesy with cheers and claps. A bit of encouragement definitely helps. But most of all, enjoy yourselves and make new friends!
