SUMMARY OF EVENT

After our first successful open-mic karaoke pub meetup (check out our past events and pics), we have had numerous requests for a subsequent meetup event. This time, we are setting up this event in a popular family karaoke franchise. Our plan is to seat a maximum of 6-7 people in medium size rooms to allow members to enjoy each other's company. Yet not too crowded so that everyone gets to sing their fair share of favorite songs.

Depending on the crowd turnout we will probably end up with few rooms booked, but adjoined each other. When your song is not up yet, feel free to get up, drink in hand, and visit the various rooms to introduce yourself and meet new friends. But don't forget to come back to your room in time for your song.

Once your 4 hours singing time are up, don't worry... as the fun is not over yet. For those who still have time to spare, you are invited to head over to Uncle Don's just across the road. For some quick happy hour drinks or snacks before dinnertime. Get to know your new friends even better or bid farewell. What a way to end an eventful day of karaoke meetup.

This meetup event is welcome and open for all to come. We also encourage more singles (share this) to attend. Nothing beats a chance to serenade that special someone with a few of your favorite love songs. While the others too, can simply sit back and enjoy the show. ;-)

All in all, don't let our meetup group name Karaoke Kings & Queens intimidate you. Lose yourself in a world of joy and laughter during that fun-filled afternoon. Novice to singing? No worries. If you ever need help, there will be plenty of SiFu's and SiJie's to sing along with you.

Remember practice makes perfect. Next time you attend, you'll no doubt level up your singing skills.

RULES & ETIQUETTE

• Take turns to sing your songs entered into the system
• Decide with others whether you go 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc
• If your turn is next up, use the 'Insert' button to queue
• Sing 1 song per turn. Wait for next rotation to sing again
• Queue your next song up before you go mingle in other rooms
• Make sure to come back in time for the song you queued up
• Do not hijack the song that someone else has keyed in
• If you like a song that someone else sang, key in separately
• If someone invites you to sing along, follow 'You Sing One Verse, I Sing One Verse'
• Claps and cheers at the end of every song

CROWNED WINNERS

Whenever there is a karaoke event, there is always a star that shines bright. At the end of our session, the organizers will present a little trophy labelled "Karaoke King" or "Karaoke Queen". The winner will hold the title of king or queen until the next newcomer attempts to dethrone them. Will they let that happen, or will they do their best to defend their title?

THE VENUE

The meetup event will be held at a popular and affordable family karaoke franchise named "Loudspeaker". It is situated in the heart of Kota Damansara at the Strand, just opposite the Giza mall. Being part of a few shoplot units, there are plenty of free parking spaces around. Our karaoke session will begin Sat from 1pm - 5pm for a duration of 4 hours.

HOW TO ATTEND

Member participation for this event is first come first served by clicking on Attend button. The available seating quota will also be allocated equally between 'first come first served' male and female attendees. Entry fees will be paid once you arrive at the venue.

If you are unable to attend, please delete your reservation so that your spot can be given to those waiting further down the line. Therefore, do remember to click to Attend even though you might have past the allocated 30 pax seating. As there will likely be those who drop out during the last minute. We shall inform you right away if a spot opens up.

ENTRY FEE

Rm 30 per head. Your entry fee will entitle you to 4 hours of singing in each room as well as free flow of drinks (non-alcoholic). A bucket of bottled beer and FREE packets of peanuts will be on standby in each room. Please remember to leave RM 15 in the payment container for each bottled beer that your consume.

WAITING LIST

Ideally, we'd like our karaoke events to be a perfect balance of male to female ratio. But that may not always be the case. And we may have to end up capping the amount of excess gender turnout by limiting our RSVP earlier than usual and put new attendees on waiting list. We will selectively approve wait list attendees until our total turn out reaches close to 50:50 gender ratio. If late comers can't make the quota this round, no worries. Simply rsvp earlier in the next event to secure your spot.
