Hike to Bear Wallow

Let’s start the Memorial Day weekend with a hike to Bear Wallow. We will meet for carpool at the Moore Park boat launch near the restrooms at 9am. We will then drive less than 10 miles to the TH just past Running Y. Parking is on the left just after the bridge over the Caledonia canal. Please be cautious of the traffic flows within the construction zone. We will hike to Bear Wallow via the Aspen Lake Road which is about 2.3 miles with 500 elevation gain. The hike is on dirt/gravel road with a little off trail around the Wallow if you would like to explore a bit. We will stop for a break here before returning to cars for a total of about 5 miles. We may even get to see some birds in the area. The weather looks pleasant. Wear good hiking shoes, layers, sun hat and/or sunscreen. Bring water, snacks and/or lunch. Dogs are welcome with leash.
