LET US HIKE UP STUKEL MOUNTAIN THE EASY WAY ON LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Details
The panoramic views from the summit of Stukel Mountain are outstanding. You will enjoy this advanced beginner summit hike on a solid gravel road with its wide-open views all the way up to the summit.
We will carpool from our meet up at KCC to our TH shown in the picture which is 13 miles and takes 40 minutes. Most of this distance is on paved road to the quarry where we start our last 4 miles on good gravel road with several rocky, bumpy and uneven sections. There will be some rocks on the road to navigate around. Drivers will need a high clearance car but not a 4WD that has good tires and good bakes on this road.
We will drive together to the trail head then hike to the summit a 2.2- mile one way hike with an elevation gain of 1000 ft. Our hike is on the switch-back road which is in good condition for hiking. After having lunch at the summit and enjoying the views we will return back on the road to our trail head. Driving down is easier than driving up but do note that is very slow especially in washed out sections.
Again, please note that this is an advanced beginner hike with some mini sections of intermediate hiking.
Our holiday weekend weather looks very good for our hike with sun some clouds and light winds. The summit temperature will be in the 77 range with some light to moderate northwest winds.
Do bring with you on this hike, a good windbreaker, long pants, sturdy boots, hiking poles, lots of water with electrolytes, lunch, hat, sunglasses, cell phone and camera.
Dogs are welcome on this hike on a leash.
Please note that this road that we are hiking on is also drivable and that cars or trucks may be passing by as we hike. On Sunday, I expect very limited activity on this road. We did this drive and hike on Tuesday and only met one runner coming down the mountain,
