Devil's Garden has its own little world. It has a uniqueness that is totally different from the rest of Oregon. It is a place of solitude and peace. It has rock formations that resemble a moonscape. It is for sure a different hike from all of the other hikes that we have done before. On this hike we will visit the rock submarine, the picture rock window and the high point.
Devil's Garden is located near Sprague River, Oregon in Klamath County. It is a 30-mile 38- min drive from Klamath Falls.

This is an ADVANCED BEGINNER hike with some short INTERMEDIATE sections, and it is trail less. It is slow hiking with lots of jaw dropping stops. We will be stopping for pictures. The chosen path that we are going on has some uphill and downhill sections. I feel it is a safe hike, but hikers will need to be very cautious from step to step since there are some sections that have loose rocks. Be prepared to go slow on this hike and due note that you have to stay with the group at all times. If you choose to wander away from our group, you will be responsible for yourself. Plan on having lunch on a picture-perfect knoll that has a 360 deg panoramic views. AGAIN, no beginner hikers on this hike. Do expect a 2.7 mile figure 8 loop hike lasting 3 hours and a 15 min lunch break.

LOGISTICS: We will meet at KCC at 10 Am for our 30-mile drive to the Devils Garden. Directions from KCC' s south parking are: Go east on Rt 140, follow this highway through Olene gap for 16.5 miles to the Yonna Valley Corner Store. Turn left and head north on Bliss Road for 1.5 miles to a Y in the road. Keep right and follow the sign towards Sprague River. At 28.7 miles from Klamath Falls, you will see a sign that says OC&E switchback Trail Head. Turn left and find a parking place. This is a rest stop with viewpoints and some interesting past train information. HOWEVER, this is NOT our trail head. After everyone arrives, I will lead you to our trailhead a short 1.1-mile drive on good gravel forest road 22.

WEATHER: Looks good. Lots of sunshine and 8 mph winds, with a high 60 deg.

BRING: Sturdy hiking boots, long pants, wind breaker, gloves, HIKING POLES are strongly recommended, water, lunch, hat, sunglasses, maybe a pad to sit on. Bring a cell phone and camera.
DOGS are welcome ok on this hike.
