A RELAXING BEGINNERS HIKE AT THE WOOD RIVER WETLANDS TRAIL

This hike is for beginners that will enjoy a nice stroll in the Wood River Wetlands. It is along a flat trail which is in nice shape. The distance is variable having a minimum distance of one mile to a maximum distance of 4.2 miles. Hiking along the shore line of the agency lake we will stop at a good looking spot for our lunch that has views to the west of the sky lakes wilderness. You can see Pelican Butte, Lather mountain, Cherry Peak and others and also see mountains in the distance of Crater Lake After lunch we return to our trail head and head home. Do bring your dog on a leash on this hike.
We will meet up at the Moore Park Marina and car pool to the Wood river Wetlands. It is 26 miles from our meet up to our trail head. We will drive north on RT 97 to the Modoc point road where we will turn left, cross over the railroad track and continue north bound for 9 miles.
Turn left at the BLM sign which displays the Wood River Wetlands.
You may drive directly to our Trail Head and meet us there at 10 45 Am.
Our weather looks like Spring like conditions with sun and a warm 60 degrees and as most always a breeze from the lake. Bring a windbreaker , lunch and a camera and your dog
