PLEASE JOIN US FOR A HISTORIC HIKE ON THE OLD REAMES GOLF COURSE TRAIL
Details
This hike is rated as a beginners loop hike of 2 miles on the old golf course cart path at the Reames golf course in Klamath Falls. The golf course has been closed for years for golf but is available for walking and hiking. There are some curvy loopy sections as well as several light uphill and down hill sections on the paved hiking path.
For those hikers who would like a bit more excitement we have an Advanced Beginner section , a little hike up a hill where you will have a 360 deg view of the terrain. This is a 200 ft climb on a deer created cross country trail to the summit of a big hill that has a very pretty view of the golf course and more . If you choose to go on this hike be sure to bring solid hiking boots and poles , since the cross country trail is rocky and muddy in some places.
We will meetup at the trail head at the growler guys restaurant on the east side of the parking lot at 11 AM. The restaurant will be open so you can use the rest rooms prior to our hike. When we are done hiking you may choose to stay and use the facility and have lunch or a refreshing beverage at the restaurant. You may not need to bring your own lunch on this occasion.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS : This hike is located on the south west side of the city, close to the RT 140 and RT 97 intersection. If you are driving south on RT 97 go past the RT 140 intersection for one quarter of a mile and turn left at the first intersection that has a sign for The Growler Guys. If you are driving west on RT 140 you need to cross under RT 97 and turn left heading south on RT 97, then after one quarter mile turn left again at the first intersection on the road that has a sign for The Growler Guys. We will meet at the east side of the building.
