At 6500 ft high and 25 miles west of Klamath Falls there stands Hamaker Mountain which is totally surrounded with pretty views. The view from the summit where we will have our lunch break is great in all directions.

Join us on this low intermediate rated loop hike. This 3.7-mile loop hike has a nice gradual warm up section of almost a mile as well as a gradual cool down downhill section of almost a mile at the end. There is a total up and down elevation change of 530 ft. There is a lot of shade from all of the forested areas which we hike through. All of our hike is on roads and trails except 300 ft which is on a easy back country trail.

Plan on meeting at the Moore Park Marina at 10 AM. It is a 22 mile drive to our Trail Head. From Moore Park, drive east on Lake Shore Drive to the ramp for Rt 97. Take Rt 97 south to the south side bypass/ Rt 66. Turn right and drive west to Keno. From downtown Keno follow Rt 66 for one mile to the Hamaker Rd. Turn left and follow this uphill winding road for 2 miles. On your left side there is a lonely light-colored building that looks like a shed all by itself. We will all meet there at 10:30 AM. If you choose to drive directly to our trail head, stop there and wait till everyone arrives. WE should all be there at 10:30 AM. I will lead you to our trail head from there which is 5 more miles up and difficult to find.

Do bring hiking poles, sturdy boots, water, electrolytes, lunch, long sleeve shirt, wind breaker, long pants are needed , hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, phone .
Our hiking weather looks good with 70 deg, Sunny and light winds,
