Data Science meets engineering - the story of the MLOps platform that makes you productive, everywhere!
Marek Wiewiórka, Chief Data Architect, GetInData
The selection of managed and cloud-native machine learning services that you can run your data science pipelines and deploy your trained models is versatile. Unfortunately, there is no single way of interacting with platforms like Amazon Sagemaker Pipelines, Google Vertex AI Pipelines, Microsoft AzureML Pipelines, Kubeflow Pipelines – or recently SQL and Snowpark within Snowflake data warehouse. In this presentation you will learn how a production-grade MLOps Platform built by GetInData and powered by battle-tested, cloud-native and/or open-source technologies such as Kedro, MLflow, and Terraform would make your data scientists’ life easier and more productive - regardless of what cloud provider you use.
Speaker bio:
Marek is a seasoned Big Data and Cloud Architect with 15+ years of experience in designing and implementing modern data and MLOps platforms. Currently Chief Data Architect @GetInData | Part of Xebia and Research Assistant at Warsaw University of Technology putting the finishing touches to his Phd dissertation. In the past, a data engineer/consultant at Truecaller, ING, PLAY, Willapay and several more companies.

Introduction to ImageIO
Sebastian Wallkötter, Data Engineer, Schibsted
Get ready for an exciting and informative introduction to ImageIO! ImageIO is a popular Python library that offers powerful capabilities for reading and writing images and videos. Together, we'll explore common use cases, best practices, and anti-patterns when using the library. We'll also build intuition for ImageIO’s v3 API, which will allow us to solve complex and non-standard problems. Plus, we'll take a brief look at ImageIO's plugin system, which – among other things – allows tweaking I/O performance. And to top it all off, we'll dive into an end-to-end machine-learning example of how to use ImageIO to train a vision model.
Speaker bio:
For the past 2.5 years Sebastian has been the core maintainer of ImageIO. During this time he has architected ImageIOs v3 API, added a new video backend, and grew monthly downloads from ~2M to well over 15M. In parallel, he actively contributes to various open-source projects in and around the PyData ecosystem. He graduated with a PhD in computer science from Uppsala University in Sweden and is now working at Schibsted where he is part of a data team that builds high-quality data foundations.
