This is a hike for which a Forestry permit has to be paid. We will accept payments until Tuesday 22/07/2025 - 11:59 pm. If you click 'Attending' but haven't paid the fee, we will have to revert your status to 'Not Attending'.

It's a loooooong time ago that we hiked in Bukit Saga. That time the construction of the SUKE highway was still in its planning stage.

Bukit Saga is a popular hiking spot and has numerous trails and...... junctions. Your navigation skills will be tested to the maximum.

We start at the end of Jalan Taman Saga and will make two loops connected by a string in the middle. We will kick-off with the toughest part and the first kilometre will be the hardest of the eight kilometres loop.

Those who are looking for a really early lunch will have ample opportunities to take a shortcut.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you have a gps navigation app (like ~in alphabetical order~ AllTrails (paid version), Gaia, Hiiker, Komoot, Maps.me, OSMAnd, Wikiloc,...) installed on your phone and make sure that it is working properly. If you don't have an app installed yet, we suggest to use Hiiker to start with. Once you have downloaded the offline map of Malaysia, you can easily import and navigate any gpx file. More info can be found in the Knowledge Base sub Event Information (general) - How to prepare myself for navigation...?

Do not come to the venue if you have not pre-installed a gps navigation app at home, or have not downloaded the map of Malaysia at home, or have not opened the test gpx file at home. Every week, we notice that too many hikers arrive just before the event starts and are absolutely not prepared which is jeopardising the scheduled timing of the event. Especially iPhone users are urged to make sure that they can open the test gpx file at home and are able to navigate.

This is a self-guided hike. You will receive a gpx file at the trailhead and you will have to navigate yourself. There will be no paper markers. For those who are not familiar with gps navigation, you will be guided but still have to use your own navigation app on your phone.

By 12:00 pm the last hikers should have reached the car park again.

Do note that the indicated meet-up time is not the time you should arrive at the meet-up location. It is the time that the hike effectively starts.

All details can be found in the Knowledge Base.

Also the explanation of the rating can be found in the Knowledge Base sub Event Information (general) - How to understand the rating system...?

It is compulsory that you respect physical distancing and the SOPs in place.
