A lesser-known green spot in Klang Valley which is usually less packed, so we can enjoy a quieter hike. It is relatively short but still has some nice views.

The trail goes through secondary forest, bamboo, and red-soil trails, giving a proper jungle feel despite being near town.

It is generally a very accessible trail with marked paths. 'Stairs' and ropes are in place where they are needed.

Bukit 527 is a scenic, beginner-friendly hill, provided you are familiar with gpx navigation, which still offers a good workout. We follow an anti-clockwise loop of around five kilometres with some up- and downhill stretches.

If it has rained it might be muddy at some places.

Do not underestimate this hike. There are options to take shortcuts for those who are not up to the challenge.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you have a gps navigation app (like ~in alphabetical order~ AllTrails (paid version), Gaia, Hiiker, Komoot, Maps.me, OSMAnd, Wikiloc,...) installed on your phone and make sure that it is working properly. If you don't have an app installed yet, we suggest to use Hiiker to start with. Once you have downloaded the offline map of Malaysia, you can easily import and navigate any gpx file. More info can be found in the Knowledge Base sub Event Information (general) - How to prepare myself for navigation...?

Do not come to the venue if you have not pre-installed a gps navigation app at home, or have not downloaded the map of Malaysia at home, or have not opened the test gpx file at home. Every week, we notice that too many hikers arrive just before the event starts and are absolutely not prepared which is jeopardising the scheduled timing of the event. Especially iPhone users are urged to make sure that they can open the test gpx file at home and are able to navigate.

This is a self-guided hike. You will receive a gpx file at the trailhead and you will have to navigate yourself. There will be no paper markers. For those who are not familiar with gps navigation, you will be guided but still have to use your own navigation app on your phone.

By 12:00 pm the last hikers should have reached the car park again.

Do note that the indicated meet-up time is not the time you should arrive at the meet-up location. It is the time that the hike effectively starts. The QR code for the gpx file can be scanned at the trailhead from 08:15 am onwards. You can start your hike at any time between 08:15 am and 09:00 am. Before or latest by 09:00 am the last participant should have started the hike.
