The main trail starts in Taman Sri Bintang, Kepong and is located behind Desa Park City. In order to avoid the parking issues at the main trailhead, we will start the hike from Kampung Palimbayan instead.

This will also allow us to hike a few trails which we have rarely hiked with KL Hiking before.

There are a few little hills around Bukit Sri Bintang, but don't underestimate them... Don't get fooled by the relatively low IBP rating: be prepared for quite some ascending and descending - with and without steps, with and without ropes...

We do not hike the same way back because this hike is a loop of around five kilometres in total.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you have a gps navigation app (like ~in alphabetical order~ AllTrails (paid version), Gaia, Hiiker, Komoot, Maps me, OSMAnd, Wikiloc,...) installed on your phone and make sure that it is working properly. If you don't have an app installed yet, we suggest to use Hiiker to start with. Once you have downloaded the offline map of Malaysia, you can easily import and navigate any gpx file. More info can be found in the Knowledge Base sub Event Information (general) - How to prepare myself for navigation...?

Do not come to the venue if you have not pre-installed a gps navigation app at home, or have not downloaded the map of Malaysia at home, or have not opened the test gpx file at home. Every week, we notice that too many hikers arrive just before the event starts and are absolutely not prepared which is jeopardising the scheduled timing of the event. Especially iPone users are urged to make sure that they can open the test gpx file at home and are able to navigate.

This is a self-guided hike. You will receive a gpx file at the trailhead and you will have to navigate yourself. There will be no paper markers. For those who are not familiar with gps navigation, you will be guided but still have to use your own navigation app on your phone.

Do note that the indicated meet-up time is not the time you should arrive at the meet-up location. It is the time that the hike effectively starts. The QR code for the gpx file can be scanned at the trailhead from 08:45 am onwards. You can start your hike at any time between 08:45 am and 09:00 am.

All details can be found in the Knowledge Base. Use this link.

Also the explanation of the rating can be found in the Knowledge Base sub Event Information (general) - How to understand the rating system...?
