The Bukit Bandaraya Backyard is a section of the Setia Alam Community Forest and is still less popular and less hiked than the northern part of SACF.

For this event we hike along the Bukit Raja Lake and head towards the famous Mirror Lake.

We follow mostly well-trodden trails in an anti-clockwise direction; a good workout of more than eight kilometres in total.

Be prepared for at least three to four hours effective hiking.

For those who think that the entire loop will be a bit too much, there are options to take a shortcut if you consult your navigation app.

Some areas do not have any canopy coverage, so protect yourself properly against the elements.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you have a gps navigation app (like ~in alphabetical order~ AllTrails (paid version), Gaia, Hiiker, Komoot, Maps me, OSMAnd, Wikiloc,...) installed on your phone and make sure that it is working properly. If you don't have an app installed yet, we suggest to use OSMAnd or Hiiker to start with. Once you have downloaded the offline map of Malaysia, you can easily import and navigate any gpx file. More info can be found in the Knowledge Base sub General Info.

Do not come to the venue if you have not pre-installed a gps navigation app at home, or have not downloaded the map of Malaysia at home, or have not opened the test gpx file at home. Every week, we notice that there are hikers who arrive just before the event starts and are absolutely not prepared which is jeopardising the scheduled timing of the event. Especially iPhone users are urged to make sure that they can open the test gpx file at home and are able to navigate.

This is a self-guided hike. You will receive a gpx file at the trailhead and you will have to navigate yourself. There will be no paper markers. For those who are not familiar with gps navigation, you will be guided but still have to use your own navigation app on your phone.

By 02:00 pm all hikers should have reached the car park again.

Do note that the indicated meet-up time is not the time you should arrive at the meet-up location. It is the time that the hike effectively starts. Online registration opens at 08:00 am, so you can start your hike at any time between 08:00 am and 09:00 am.

More details can be found in the Knowledge Base.
