On March 2, 2022, at 12:45 PM (ET) Anne Kershaw, Attorney and Litigation Discovery (E-Discovery) expert, will be our Guest Speaker and Moderator for our KM/Knowledge Services Community Discussion Forum.

Here’s how Anne describes what we’ll do next Wednesday:

In just about every litigation n the U.S. there is a process called discovery, the time when each side is supposed to “open up” and turn over to their adversary all the documents and information that relate to the parties’ claims and defenses. Usually, this process is very expensive, with lawyers and electronic discovery experts collecting tons of documents, all of which need to be analyzed for knowledge, relevance, private information, confidential information, and attorney client privilege.

Yet we know that Knowledge Services can be a big assist in the e-discovery process because it “is an approach to the management of intellectual capital that converges information management, knowledge management, and strategic learning into a single enterprise-wide discipline.” (Quoting Guy St. Clair’s Knowledge Services, A Strategic Framework for the 21st Century Organization). In other words, the knowledge strategist knows where to find the information needed for the litigation. So can a knowledge services professional help ease the pain and cost of e-discovery? I think so and the lawyers and e-discovery professionals need to know how, so let’s discuss how best to get them talking.
