The KMC Oslo is the principal centre of the Nordic region for the New Kadampa Tradition. Located in the heart of Oslo (Majorstuveien 26), it offers meditation courses, retreats and social events mostly in English.
We offer a place of joy and peace to the people of Oslo.
About the center
In the heart of the city we have built a place where you can come in, let go of your worries and stress. The centre was built with the help of volunteers from all over the world and a number of great craftsmen to give the Oslo people a place of refuge where they can find deep inner peace in the middle of everyday life.
The city centre consists of a beautiful social space where you can have a cup of tea or coffee, chat with like-minded people. The meditation room is the core of the center, creating a wonderful atmosphere where one can completely let go of the outside world for a little while and feel deep in peace and serenity.

About the teacher
Gen Kelsang Dragpa is a Dutch Buddhist monk, Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Oslo and National Spiritual Director for the Nordic region (Norway/Sweden/Denmark/Finland/Iceland).
He is a close disciple of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche- founder of the New Kadampa Tradition.
Gen Dragpa ordained as a Buddhist monk in 1993 and has for over 25 years successfully taught and guided meditations extensively as a Resident Teacher in the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, and Norway.
Through his study, practice and meditation of modern Kadampa Buddhism over the last thirty years, Gen Dragpa has gained a deep understanding of Buddha's teachings and a down to to earth and practical way of explaining how to integrate Buddha's teachings in our busy modern lives.
Gen Dragpa teaches topics relevant to our modern society in a lighthearted manner, and skilfully guides meditations for us to experience a deep feeling of inner peace and contentment.
Parents with children
Everyone is welcome and there is no need to find a babysitter, because we have live video link to the reception area where you can relax in meditation while the children can play quietly.
Persons with disabilities
The center is on the first floor and easily accessible for people in a wheelchair. There are two handicap parking spaces just outside and we also have a large newly refurbished handicap toilet.

Meditation after work, or on the way back from work, is meant to help you relax, let go of uncomfortable things and feelings that linger after the day at work. Through regular meditation we can learn to let go of both mental and physical tension and come home more relaxed and happy.
```Meditasjon etter jobb, eller på vei fra jobb er ment for å hjelpe deg med å slappe av, gi slipp på ting og tang som henger igjen etter dagen på jobb. Gjennom regelmessig meditasjon kan vi lære oss å gi slipp på begge mentale og fysiske spenninger og komme hjem mer avslappet og glad.
These meditations are both for those new to meditation and those who already have some experience.
