About us
Knight Road House Concerts is the name we gave our listening parties for our friends. Reservations are required for all shows to ensure everyone gets a seat.
A house concert is just what the name suggests: a concert in a house. More accurately, it is really a concert in a home since the word house doesn’t convey the sense of warmth and welcome that characterizes a house concert. House concerts are magical for both the musicians and the listeners. Everyone is together, up close and personal, the musicians to play and the audience to listen. Our home is in Scio Township, just west of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Our shows feature acoustic musicians performing folk, acoustic, singer/songwriter, traditional, bluegrass, and blues music. During the summer, weather permitting, the shows are in the backyard. Most of our shows are Sunday afternoons.
We request an artist donation for the musicians. This is a voluntary donation. All of the donations go directly to the musician. We suggest an amount to help the musicians get paid. They only get donations, merchandise sales, and a place to stay with meals. If the suggestion is more than you feel comfortable with, we still welcome you to attend and contribute what you can once you have an invitation.
What’s in it for us? We hear great musicians play in our backyard and living room and share the music with our friends. House concerts are a social occasion – we start off with a light potluck of food and wine brought to share and a chance for everyone to visit. Usually, the musicians play two sets.

Edie Carey in concert
Knight Road House Concerts, Knight Road, Ann Arbor, MI, USOur long-time friend, Colorado-based singer-songwriter Edie Carey is known for her unmistakable, soulful voice, her intelligent, heart-grabbing songs, but perhaps most especially for her warm, engaging presence on – and off – stage. As much a part of her show as the music itself, Carey’s wry and often self-mocking humor makes audiences feel as though they have just spent an evening with a very close friend.
This is planned as an outdoor show: bring lawn chairs or blankets (we move to the screened in porch in case of rain) It is at our house in Scio Township, just west of Ann Arbor, NI.
