What we’re about
We are a peer support group for Autistic adults in the East Tennessee and Knoxville Area, established in 2021. We meet once a month for an official support and discussion meeting last Wednesdays of the month, and also schedule social meetups throughout. Self diagnosed, not yet diagnosed or seeking diagnosis welcomed. Our meetups aim to be accessible to all Autistic adults 18+. We do not use functioning labels. We are Autistic-led and believe in “nothing about us without us.” We are in the process of becoming affiliate of the Autistic Self Advocacy Network (https://autisticadvocacy.org) and align with their mission. Our goal is to connect local Autistic adults, hold support meetings, participate in advocacy, and host fun social meetups locally. This is a space centered on autistic adults only. We understand if supports are required to be present, but this is not a place for them to be centered in the conversation. You may be asked to leave or not participate if you are unable to comply with this request. Our events are cross-posted to our private Facebook discussion group and mailing list. Thank you!
