Come celebrate your love of nature on Abrams Falls trial. If you haven’t been there it’s an iconic trail, if you have you already know. The trail is located roughly half way around the cades cove loop rd. On the right down a short gravel road. Plenty of parking. This trial is roughly 5 to 5.5 miles out and back R/T. It follows Abrams Creek for the first bit before starting a series of short hills, nothing major as the elevation gain is said to only be 639ft, before finishing down at the falls. It’s a win / win as you will get both a beautiful drive and a beautiful hike. The hike itself will only take about 2.5 hours, I’m never in a hurry and if you are brave enough you can climb to the top of the falls (it’s not toooo dangerous). Give yourself plenty of time to get there as you never know what traffic will be like in the loop, someone could spot something as incredible as a deer and back up traffic lol. We can also visit some of the old buildings around the loop if interested. Make sure your phone is fully charged as you will want to take plenty of pictures. Dress and pack appropriately, bring plenty of water, snacks. Guests are always welcome, bring as many as you like always. And always cancel your RSVP beforehand if you’re not coming so I’m not left waiting. I will be checking for messages if you’re running late or anything right before loss of cell service in Townsend.
