Turtletown Falls Trail
Details
Located south of Tellico, about an hour and a half out of West Knoxville.
This is a roughly 3.8 mile loop with two waterfalls and 564 ft elevation gain total. Should take less than two hours to complete. I’ve been before and both falls were great. We can also stop by Conasauga falls trail or Bald River Falls on the way back if anyone is interested, Conasauga is only 1.3 miles in and out R/T. Bald river next to the road of course, parking can be a pain.
I remember the trial being in good shape and easy to hike, narrow in a couple of spots , I’m sure a tree or two to hop over. If I recall correctly the road in closer to the trail head is kind of rocky as is the one to Conasauga. I also don’t recall how large the parking area is. I drive a truck and have room for up to four other ppl if anyone wants to carpool from West Knoxville or meet closer to the trail. With gas being what it is, also makes sense. I’ve seen cars on both, just go slow if that’s what you decide. You know how you hike, what you prefer, I like boots and my hiking stick. Bring water of course, food if you want, guests always welcome, friends , kids, whatever. I’m never in a hurry and always go as fast as the slowest person, break whenever needed. We of course will want to stop and enjoy the falls for a bit, take plenty of pictures.
Out of respect please cancel RSVP’s if deciding not to go so I’m not left waiting, please do so by 10:00 AM because service gets spotty down there like most places. As long as the event is still up, that means I’m still going. You can always message me with questions.
I’m always using Using all trails and Google Maps FYI
