Welcome to the Koenji Chess Club!
A group is for chess enthusiasts (chess, shogi, xiangqi). All levels welcome.
Casual hangouts in a relaxed environment to play chess with like-minded people.
Meeting at The Den in Koenji from 6 PM to 10 PM, but feel free to pop in and out anytime.
No need to bring anything. I have 8 tournament-style vinyl boards with triple-weighted pieces for chess, which is hard to find in Japan and 8 wooden boards and traditional pieces for shogi.
Aiming to hold this event twice a month, ideally on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. Check the event pages for more details and updates.
Asking for a 1,000 yen entry fee to cover venue and meetup costs. Price includes all games and a drink ticket for either a select alcoholic beverage or soft drink.
