The Future of of AI Agent Workflows- Transforming AI Agents with Event Driven Architecture & MCP

Abstract:
This talk traces the AI evolution as event-driven multi-agent systems . Using the journey from monoliths to microservices as an analogy, it shows how treating agents as stateful microservices with a “brain,” running over Kafka-based event-driven architecture, unlocks scalable, low-latency, and loosely coupled workflows.

This same event-driven fabric is also the ideal substrate for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), allowing tools and data sources to be exposed as events and consumed by agents with strong decoupling,
We will see a glimpse of using Opensource Confluent MCP server implementation that enables AI assistants to interact with Confluent Cloud REST APIs to manage Confluent Cloud infrastructure.
