All aboard the USS Iowa battleship museum for an afternoon of history, learning, patriotism, gratitude, chowder on a barge, and of course meeting new people!

USS Iowa is a retired United States battleship that was launched in 1943 and served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Cold War. She was decommissioned in 1990 and donated to become a public museum in 2012.

She has GUNS.... massive GUNS. Are they called guns? I don't know, but we are going to learn all about it! :-)

Parking at the USS Iowa Museum is one hour free, $2/hr thereafter. $22/day max. I am unsure of parking at the Leeward Bay Marina (Chowder Barge).

THE SUNKEN CITY:

IF WE HAVE ENERGY AFTER THE USS IOWA, WE CAN POTENTIALLY VISIT THE "SUNKEN CITY" WHICH IS 10 MINUTES AWAY. IT WAS AN AFFLUENT NEIGHBORHOOD THAT SLID INTO THE OCEAN AND THE CITY NEVER CLEANED IT UP.

APPARENTLY IT IS FULL OF COOL GRAFFITI ART AND WE MIGHT BE THERE AT SUNSET FOR SOME COOL PHOTOS. WE'LL SEE HOW WE FEEL.
