안녕하세요! Welcome to Korean Learners Connect NYC, a community for adults in New York City who already know some Korean and want to keep learning, speaking, and connecting with others who share an interest in Korean language and culture.

We're building on an existing small group of adult Korean learners who meet regularly in mid town, Manhattan. We're now welcoming a few more learners who may be a good fit for the current group, while also bringing together people interested in forming a new small group.

Who is this for?

Korean Learners Connect NYC is designed for adults who have already started learning Korean.

You don't need to be fluent or even conversational yet, but you should be able to:

• Read Hangul (한글)
• Understand some basic Korean expressions
• Recognize basic grammar and sentence structures
• Make or understand simple Korean sentences

If you've studied Korean before but feel that you need more opportunities to actually speak and use what you've learned, you'll probably feel at home here.

Our approach combines structured learning with practical conversation.

We work on speaking, listening, reading, useful grammar and vocabulary, while gradually becoming more comfortable communicating naturally in Korean.

Classes are kept small and interactive, so everyone has opportunities to participate, ask questions, speak, and receive individual attention.

The instructor is a native Korean speaker with professional Korean-language teaching experience at a well-established language institute in New York City. The instructor also has a masters degree.

Our community

Korean Learners Connect NYC isn't meant to be just another class.

We'd like to create a community of interesting adults-including NYC professionals from different fields and backgrounds-who enjoy learning Korean and getting to know one another along the way.

In addition to regular learning, we may get together for Korean conversation nights, dinners, cafés, cultural events, films, TOPIK practice, and other Korean-related outings around NYC.

Some gatherings will focus more on Korean. Others will simply give us a chance to enjoy Korean culture and connect with people we might not otherwise meet in New York City.

Our classroom

Our regular classes and selected gatherings take place at a beautiful, spacious, and secure private venue in Manhattan, conveniently accessible by multiple subway lines.

We want it to feel like somewhere you actually look forward to coming after work-not simply another classroom.

Interested in joining us?

Because our learning groups are intentionally small, we like to get to know new learners before inviting someone to join a class.

We'll first ask you a few simple questions about your Korean-learning experience and what you're hoping to improve.

From there, we may arrange a casual 3-5 minute Zoom conversation.

This isn't an interview or an exam. It's simply a chance for us to get to know each other, hear a little of your Korean, understand your goals, and determine which group would be the most comfortable fit for your current level.

It's equally an opportunity for you to meet the instructor, ask questions, and decide whether Korean Learners Connect NYC feels right for you.

If your Korean level isn't quite the same as our existing group, that's perfectly fine-we're also building another small group for learners at a compatible level.

You don't need perfect Korean. You just need some Korean and a willingness to use it.
