What we’re about
What is korfball?
A team sport with similarities to basketball and netball. Men and women compete on the same team with the ultimate aim being to score by throwing the ball through the 'korf' (a tall, yellow basket).
Edinburgh Mavericks pride ourselves on being a fun and welcoming club, all ages/experience/fitness levels are welcome!
Who can play?
Anyone - we always welcome new players to our training sessions. And in our "Try Korfball" sessions we aim to introduce beginner's to the sport and learn more about korfball and the Mavericks.
Where do you play?
We are based at Scotland's Performance sport centre at Oriam, Heriot Watt University Campus, Edinburgh.
It is located off the city bypass and close to the M8/M9/M90 - so we have members from a range of locations from central Edinburgh, to Musselburgh, West Lothian, Stirling and Galashiels. Many of our members carpool to attend training every week.
Our outdoor sessions take place in the Meadows.
Anything else?
Beginners always welcome to any session.
Feel free to get in touch if you are thinking of coming along, or have any questions! You can also check out our Facebook page, Instagram or website for more details - just Google 'Edinburgh Mavericks' or visit edmavericks.co.uk.
