📍 Meeting Point: Exit 5, Hansung University Station (Line 4)
→ Meet at Exit 5. We will begin with an introduction before walking toward Hyehwamun and the Seongbuk section of the Fortress Wall.

## 🌟 About this Event

> “Seongbuk-dong, once a village of writers and artists, now opens its alleys, temples, and gardens to memory.”

This walk retraces the literary and artistic heritage of Seongbuk-dong, from fortress gates and royal gardens to houses of writers and modern cultural landmarks. With Dr. KOSINAM as your guide, discover how this neighborhood became a stage for Korea’s modern cultural identity.

> The walk will be filmed for our YouTube channel. Participants who wish to appear on camera, please inform Samuel at the site.

## 🪠 Detailed Itinerary

11:00 AM – Meeting & Orientation at Exit 5, Hansung Univ. Station
11:20 AM – Hyehwamun Gate & Fortress Wall – Defense and daily life in northern Seoul
12:10 PM – Seongrakwon – Korea’s largest surviving villa garden (approx. 5,000 KRW entry)
1:00 PM – Yi Tae-jun’s House – Colonial-era literature and the “village of writers”
1:50 PM – Kansong Art Museum – Cultural independence and heritage preservation
2:40 PM – Gilsangsa Temple – From pleasure house to a temple of “non-possession”
4:00 PM – Closing Session – Choose among:
Seongbuk-dong Myeonokjip (traditional Korean dining, 냉면·갈비찜)
Suyun Sanbang (hanok café, pumpkin bingsoo) or Dongdaheon (traditional tea)
Seongbuk-dong Makgeolli / Majunteo (taverns with pajeon & makgeolli)
6:00 PM – Event ends, group farewell near Seongbuk-dong eateries (return via Hansung Univ. Station or Sungshin Women’s Univ. Station)
