🔴 The Adventure of Kotlin and Compose Through The Multiplatform World
🗣Carlos Mota, Android GDE
Carlos Mota is an Android GDE. He can easily be spotted either working on Android applications written in Kotlin or developing them along with Kotlin Multiplatform. An enthusiastic about new technology and always trying to reach those last 20% of all of his side projects that seem to be really far away. He loves to share his knowledge with others either by giving talks, teaching, writing or along with a cold beer in the nearest pub. GDG Coimbra organizer and Kotlin evangelist, he also has a huge passion for travel, photography, space and the occasional run.
Join Carlos in his adventure through Kotlin and Compose Multiplatform and learn how you can develop apps using these technologies. You’ve got your Android app already developed? See how you can make it run on your watch and on the Desktop effortlessly. Or how you can share your business logic with iOS and speed up your development. Perhaps, you want to develop for the Web? See how you can give the first steps into Compose for the Web while also sharing your logic.
🔴 "Kotlinifying" UI Testing
🗣 Nuno Alves de Sousa, Critical TechWorks
He's an Aerospace Engineer turned Android Developer with a big love for the Automotive Industry. He has a background in C++ in the Aviation Industry and he recently joined the Android world at Critical TechWorks. Since then, he became a geek for all Kotlin topics. He's also very enthusiastic about exploring new technologies and frameworks such as Jetpack Compose and in his free time he likes to dip his feet in the "new stuff" on his own side projects. He also enjoy's electronic prototyping and he loves surfing and playing music too.
Ui testing is probably not on top of every developer's wish-list. Even though it is an important part of the development process, it can be a tedious and monotonous job. In this talk we'll present a lightweight DSL we developed at CTW to make writing acceptance tests more efficient, safe, and expressive by leveraging Kotlin-specific features such as function types with receivers, extension and infix functions, context receivers and more. You'll learn how to extend and customise the DSL and how to integrate it with different testing frameworks. You might even reuse some of the techniques presented, should you want to develop a Kotlin DSL for other domains. Your imagination is the limit!
