Kotlin Meetup January 2024 @ Erste Campus

Details
===Topics===
1st Talk – Modernizing Web Development: Kotlin and HTMX: HTMX is a lightweight JavaScript library that simplifies dynamic web development by removing HTML’s constraints. Its focus on simplicity and integration makes it a versatile choice for enhancing web-based applications without requiring extensive JavaScript. Take a sneak peek into a possible future of web development where we’ll dive into the fusion of Kotlin and HTMX.
2nd Talk – Introducing Kotlin Multiplatform to Existing Project: Kotlin Multiplatform is around for some years already and was recently promoted to stable. While it is working great in fresh projects that start with it from the beginning, we’re going to take a look at how it is possible to integrate it with an existing codebase. Come and see what challenges you may encounter and - hopefully - how to solve most of them.
3rd Talk – Integrating Native libraries with Kotlin using Project Panama: The Java Virtual Machine (JVM) has had a foreign function interface for a long time; it's called JNI (Java Native Interface) and is known to be very clunky and challenging to work with. It was about time for a significant overhaul. With Project Panama, a modern framework for integrating with native libraries was created. Let's explore some real-world use cases and see how we can integrate Kotlin with native libraries using Project Panama.
Sildes will be available here.
