**1st Talk:** **When is Kotlin the Right Choice?**
Join us for a down-to-earth look at the type of contexts in which it makes sense to use Kotlin as the programming language for your projects. From its seamless interoperability with Java to its concise and expressive syntax and multiplatform capabilities, Kotlin offers many advantages that can enhance productivity and code quality for mobile development with Android, server-side applications, and multi-platform projects.
We'll take a step outside of our normal technical context and try to see things from other perspectives.
Whether you're a seasoned developer or just starting out, this session will give you the knowledge to determine when Kotlin is the right choice for your next endeavor.

**2nd Talk: Kotlin 101**
We’d like to give all the Kotlin newcomers a chance to get a taste of Kotlin. You will hear the basics of the Kotlin programming language in an introductory talk, no Kotlin experience is required, Java is highly recommended, or at least some other general-purpose object-oriented language (C#, JavaScript, Scala, Ruby, ...)
Together we will go through some simple coding examples, so-called Koans, to get a feeling of the language.

I am a passionate software crafter from Vienna, Austria. I am convinced that the best results can be obtained by working together in a team, using practices such as pair programming, TDD, and continuous integration.
Sharing my knowledge and facilitating learning is very important to me - through the daily work with my team, by running coding dojos, holding training courses, or by contributing at conferences. At the same time, I enjoy learning from my peers every day.
My focus is on software architecture - collaboratively designing, evolving, refining and communicating it. For that, I rely heavily on everything from the DDD community, such as collaborative modelling and strategic design.
Technology-wise, I feel at home on the JVM, where Kotlin gives me the most joy. I have also worked a lot with TypeScript, and in recent years, I have been (re-)discovering my love for SQL.

Kotlin Multiplatform became stable last year, making it ready for production use for anyone looking to share code between platforms. In this talk, we’ll take a look at what that announcement means for Kotlin Multiplatform, and how the technology is evolving now, beyond the stable release.
You’ll hear about UI sharing with Compose Multiplatform, the latest of Kotlin Multiplatform tooling, the new Amper build tool, and more!

Márton is a Kotlin Developer Advocate at JetBrains, working on making Kotlin Multiplatform awesome. Passionate about education, he's a guest lecturer at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
He’s been contributing to the community through writing, speaking, and open source libraries since his university days. He is a Google Developer Expert for Android and Kotlin, and a co-organizer of Android Budapest and Android Worldwide.
