Let’s take a gentle walk through Kyoto and reconnect with nature.

We will start from Keage and follow the peaceful Shirakawa River, walking at a relaxed pace toward the open space of Kamogawa River.

Keage → Shirakawa River → Kamogawa

This walk is for those who:
• Want to move their body for better health
• Feel tired from screens and daily stress
• Would like a digital detox moment
• Simply want quiet, meaningful time outdoors

No rush. No pressure.
Just walking, breathing, and being present.

If the weather is nice, we will have a small picnic by the Kamogawa River after we arrive.
Please feel free to bring your favorite onigiri, snacks, or tea.
Kindly bring your own picnic sheet.

Distance: Easy & comfortable
Duration: Around 60–90 minutes
Atmosphere: Calm, friendly, mindful

蹴上からスタートし、穏やかな白川沿いをのんびりと歩き、開放感あふれる鴨川へ向かいます。

蹴上 → 白川沿い → 鴨川

このお散歩は、こんな方におすすめです。

・健康のために体を動かしたい方
・スマホやパソコンなどの画面に少し疲れている方
・デジタルデトックスの時間を持ちたい方
・自然の中で静かで心のある時間を過ごしたい方

急がず、無理せず。
ただ歩き、呼吸し、今この瞬間を感じる時間です。

天気が良ければ、鴨川に到着後にささやかなピクニックをしましょう。
おにぎりやお茶など、お好きなものをぜひお持ちください。
レジャーシートは各自ご持参ください。

Learn Japanese Through Culture – Spring Walk in Kyoto Gyoen

In Japan, the year is divided into 72 subtle seasonal moments.
This week is called “Momo Hajimete Saku” — when peach blossoms begin to smile.

In old Japanese, flowers don’t simply “bloom.”
They smile.

During this gentle walk in Kyoto Gyoen, we won’t just look at flowers.
We will explore how Japanese people describe nature — and how language reflects culture.

🌿 What makes this experience special?

This is a Japanese language experience through culture.

You will:
• Learn a few beautiful seasonal words
• Understand the meaning behind them
• Try expressing what you see and feel in Japanese
• Discover how traditional sensitivity to nature shapes the language

No pressure. No textbook feeling.
Just natural learning through observation and conversation.

We will also touch on the cultural meaning of peach in Japan — and I’ll save some stories for the day itself 🌸

日本には、一年を72の小さな季節に分ける「七十二候」があります。
この週は「桃始笑（ももはじめてさく）」。

花は「咲く」と言いますが、昔の日本では「笑う」とも表現しました。
桃の花がやわらかくほころぶ様子を、春がほほえみ始める瞬間として感じていたのです。

今回の散策では、ただ花を見るだけではありません。

🌿 文化を通して、日本語を体験します。

・季節を表す美しい言葉を知る
・その背景にある日本人の感性を学ぶ
・実際に感じたことを日本語で表現してみる
・自然と言葉のつながりを体感する

教室のような堅いレッスンではなく、
自然の中で、やさしく日本語にふれる時間です。

また、桃に込められた日本の文化的な意味についても少し触れます。
