A few years back, I travelled through Peru, and I was left with a deep appreciation for its culture and an absolute love for the food. As I’m currently planning the next KoZa adventure (spoiler alert, it is a trip to Peru 😁 announcement coming very soon!), I’ve found myself craving the fresh, punchy flavours of ceviche and other Peruvian specialities. So, it seems only natural that our next dinner should whisk us away to South America—right here in London!

Peruvian cuisine is a fascinating tapestry woven from ancient traditions and global influences. From the Pacific coast to the heights of the Andes and the lush Amazon, ingredients like potatoes, corn, aji peppers, and citrus are at the heart of its dishes. The country’s national dish, ceviche, features cubes of raw fish marinated in lime juice and spiced with chilli, then paired with sweet potato and corn for a bold and refreshing flavour combination.
Don’t miss trying the iconic Pisco Sour, Peru’s national cocktail—its tangy, frothy blend of pisco brandy, lime juice, and bitters is the perfect complement to the vibrant flavours of the meal.

Event Details:
🗓️ Date: Thursday, 20th November
🕐 Time: 18:30
📍Venue: Chakana London – 41 Broadway Market, London E8 4PH

Chakana is a modern Peruvian restaurant brought to London by the acclaimed chef Robert Ortiz (formerly of Michelin-starred Lima). The name “Chakana” refers to an ancient Andean cross symbol — representing the three worlds, harmony with nature, and connection.
At the restaurant, you’ll find beautifully crafted Peruvian dishes: ceviches and tiraditos showcasing Peru’s coast and Japanese influence; causa and stews drawing on Andean potatoes and Amazonian ingredients; and thoughtful vegetarian/vegan options too.
The space itself captures a vibrant, relaxed East London vibe — perfect for our group to gather, chat and enjoy something a little different.

👉 Please only sign up if you’re able to make it, so I can confirm the correct number of seats with the restaurant.

Looking forward to another memorable evening together — and getting a little taste of Peru before the real journey begins!
