See all- RustCracow #2 - recording terminal sessions, trading bot project insightsKlub Grota 2, Kraków
RustCracow is living and we are heading to #2 our stationary meetup! We want to create a nice place for the Rust programming language community in Cracow to share knowledge, ideas and experience.
This time the meetup will take place on May 20th at Klub Grota 2, ul. Rakowicka 27, between 17:00 and 21:00 - depends on how many talks and lighting talks we will have there! Spots are limited (60) so please enroll carefully. Coffee provided!Agenda:
1) Welcome from the organizers [PL; 10 minutes; 17:00 - 17:10]
First things first :)2) How asciinema uses Rust - Marcin Kulik [PL or EN; 50 minutes, 17:10-1800]
asciinema project adopted Rust many years ago. In this talk we'll go over various parts of the asciinema stack (CLI, web player, server), look at how Rust is integrated into the stack, and what features this amazing language enabled.About the Speaker
I'm a software engineer working with Rust and Elixir. I created asciinema project.- Lighting talks (if there will be any) or short break for coffee - TBA
4) Rust crypto trading bot project insights and exchanges demystified - Mateusz Szczyrzyca [PL preferred; 55 minutes 18:15 - 19:10]
A tale about two crypto trading bots written in Rust and how crypto/stock exchanges work in general.
In this presentation I’ll show a brief history of my open source project, which is a crypto trading bot for Binance crypto exchange. How was the initial idea and how it evolved over time. How much money I spent for testing on production, what bugs encountered (I’ll talk about cost of specific bugs). It should be a good presentation for those who want to know more about exchanges: how they work, what asset prices mean exactly, why prices go up or down. Hence if you plan to make some investments in some exchanges, buy some cryptos or write your own bot for trading, hold on and use my findings.About the Speaker
Mateusz is a software engineer who works mainly with Rust and Go programming languages. He’s passionate about electronics and embedded systems and after hours spends time on gathering Go and Rust communities in Cracow.- Definitely short break 🙂
6) Creating cot - a novel Rust web framework for lazy developers [PL/EN; 50 minutes 19:30 - 20:20]
If you ever wondered what happens when two bored nerds annoyed with the status quo of the Rust web ecosystem, come and listen to our talk. We’ll describe why we decided to create yet another web framework, how it differs from everything else on the market currently, and why you should give it a try! You’ll hear about creating a web framework focused on being developer-friendly, a wannabe-smart ORM with automatically generated migrations, a built-in admin panel, and many, many more!About the Speakers
Marek and Mateusz are software engineers with strong ties to the open-source community. Mateusz brings 3 years of professional experience in backend web development and 5 years of hobbyist Rust programming. Marek, with a background in cybersecurity, recently transitioned to software engineering, working professionally with Go while continuing his hobbyist journey with Rust.-
