Practical Philosophy Club: Aging

Details

On Thursday, August 28 the next meeting of the Practical Philosophy Club will again take place at the Kingdom (Biskupia St. 18/1). This time, we the topic is "Aging". The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m., and the discussion will be held in English. Admission, as always, is free.

  1. What is aging? Is it primarily a physical process, a mental one, or both? Which aspect do you think has a greater impact on our lives?
  2. Does the passage of time, and the reality of aging, stress you out, knowing that our time on earth is limited?
  3. What part of getting older scares you the most: your body changing, your mind slowing down, or something else entirely?
  4. Is aging really a disease that can/ should be cured?
  5. Would technology and research ever actually deliver on these anti-aging promises, or is it just hype?
  6. What’s one thing you’re afraid you won’t get to do before you grow old?
  7. If you had the option to live to 300 years old, would you take it, or would you rather stick to the typical human lifespan of 80–100 years?

The Kingdom Without Limit is an open enclave at 18 Biskupia Street in Kraków, combining elements of a cultural centre, a café, a museum, a library, a university, a coworking space, your grandmother's house and a place you've probably always missed. The Gate is open Monday to Saturday from 4pm to 11pm.

The Kingdom is independent. As a result, events are diverse, open and free of charge. If you want it to stay that way, you can support the open enclave:
