Topic: Best practices for running serverless functions on Kubernetes

Speaker Bio: Alexis Roberson
Alexis is a Developer Advocate at Elastic, where she focuses on adding support for developers through online content focusing on DevOps and Observability. Before Elastic, Alexis worked as a DevOps Engineer, where she worked to manage infrastructure and collaborated with the ops and dev teams to ensure healthy deployments. She was also responsible for spearheading the building and managing of an internal tool used to validate data consistency. With a BA in computer science, Alexis enjoys explaining complex topics in simple ways and removing variables for anyone to feel a sense of belonging in the tech space.

2nd Presentation: Application deployment with Kubernetes Operators

When it comes to application deployments in Kubernetes, you have a couple of options:
1. Deploy with YAML files
2. Deploy with Helm charts or
3. Deploy with Operators.

This presentation will go through the options mentioned above. In addition, we will show you how to create a Kubernetes operator and deploy it to a cluster. This session will be followed by a walk-through of the Bitnami Prometheus Operator Helm chart and a live demo of it being deployed.
